MINI-KRIEKET/ MINI CRICKET
Die vlak van mini-krieket by Worcester Primêre Skool het die afgelope paar jaar baie verbeter. Spelers het die geleentheid gehad om aan verskeie mini-krieket sportdae deel te neem. Ons het weereens ‘n suksesvolle mini-krieket sportdag gehad aan die begin van die jaar, waar verskeie skole teen mekaar kon meeding. Ons glo aan massadeelname, want die ontwikkeling van spelers van kleins af, is vir ons belangrik. Ons strewe is om aan ons leerders soveel moontlik geleenthede te bied en ons doen dit met trots!
The level of mini cricket at WPS has improved greatly over the past few years. Players had the opportunity to take part in various mini cricket sports days. Once again we had a successful mini cricket sports day at the beginning of the year, where several schools could compete against each other. We believe in mass participation, because the development of our players from an early age, is very important. We strive to give opportunities to as many learners as possible and we are doing it with pride!

SENIOR KRIEKET / CRICKET
In what was a difficult year due to the Covid-19 pandemic WPS has proved again that they can compete at the highest level with a very successful first part of the cricket season. Unfortunately we only had cricket in the first term of 2020 and therefore not as many matches as in the past.
Daar was wel baie hoogtepunte en WPS se geskiedenisboeke was ook herskryf in 2020. Ons was weereens bevoorreg om verskeie spanne in die veld te kon stoot, met baie groot belangstelling onder ons seuns, en selfs dogters, wat krieket wou speel. Van graad 4 tot graad 7 het ons kinders in groot groepe opgedaag vir die nuwe seisoen.

WPS het dan ook in 2020 vir die eerste keer in die skool se bestaan ‘n senior dogterspan gehad wat ‘n wedstryd gespeel het teen Laerskool Robertson. Hierdie dogters het hulself fantasties van hul taak gekwyt en met ‘n reuse oorwinning van die veld gestap.
Ons skool se baie bekwame afrigters het baie ure ingesit met afrigting om te help dat ons krieketspelers hulle volle potensiaal bereik, en hiermee dan ook ‘n spesiale dank aan elke afrigter.
Here at WPS we strive to identify cricket talent from a young age. Our u/11 C team is basically our grade 4’s (u/10) which also plays against all our competing schools. We are very proud of these boys and their performances as once again our youngsters had a great start to the season .
In ‘n verkorte jaar was WPS bevoorreg om teen verskeie skole wedstryde te kon speel o.a Paarl Primêre Seunsskool, Paarl Gimnasium, Laerskool Gericke, Hexvallei, Worcester Hub en ook weer vir die eerste keer in baie jare teen Laerskool Robertson.
To make sure all our teams play enough games, our B and C teams played against tougher competition by playing against our local schools A teams, with much success.
All our teams from u/11C to u/13A have proven themselves as very competitive during the 2020 season and the cricket future at WPS looks very promising. We are blessed with very good cricket facilities to accommodate each cricket player and to grow from strength to strength.
