The world around our children is changing more rapidly than ever before. Our young children are competent with equipment and technology that did not exist just 5 years ago, conceived and developed almost alongside the children themselves. Swimming is a sport that equips them with the confidence they need in our ever-changing world.

Swimming is one of our sports that we are proud to offer. Our swimmers are very enthusiastic and have a love for swimming. They are also very dedicated.

It’s a sport where learners grow and learn to work hard and swim hard.

SWIMMING [Annual report 2020]

Die gala was gehou by HTS Drostdy.

The next gala we took part in was Paarl Boys’ Primary Relay Gala. Only the seniors had to make up relay teams of four swimmers in a team. Unfortunately we don’t have enough swimmers to make up teams for each year group and we had to use some of the younger swimmers to help out. They did their utmost best and succeeded. It was heart-warming to experience the enthusiasm of our swimmers. To competition was strong but we showed guts. The school that took part were Kenridge Primary, Hugenote Primary, Slot van die Paarl, Girls’ High, eikestad
Primary.

The last gala we took part in was Worcester-Oos’ swimming gala. It was held at De La Bat Swimming Pool. This swimming pool is also 50m in distance. WPS did really well and managed to bring home 9 gold, 6 silver and 9 bronze medals. The stars of the day were Mila Kock, Kate Botha, Mia Coetzee, Allen Basson, Lulu Salie, Carl van der Westhuizen, Disha Patel, Chelsey Burger, Tom Botha, Paris Burger, Lize Viljoen, Theuns van der Westhuizen and Eugene Walker. Unfortunately Swimming South Africa has cancelled the South African Champs that
were due to take place in March 2020. Paris Burger was supposed to take part in this event, but due to Covid 19 we are still waiting for the new date for the various champs.
